Petra | Portrait Portfolio
I have know Petra for a few years and we have grown to feel like sisters for each other – she the beautiful one though :-P. She was also one of my first clients when I started shooting boudoirs and I took the photos for her entry into Sarie Voorbladgesig van die Jaar competition that year. When she approached me about a model portfolio shoot I was so nervous, as I have never done one before, but also so excited because I always wanted to do one. The pressure was on, because she has done so many shoots by then, but she also convinced me that while she’ll feel a lot more relaxed with me, I also know what she can deliver due to doing a shoot with her before.
We planned all the looks and locations and although most photographers know by now that your arrangements can’t be cast in stone due to weather predictions that can go all wrong – that is maybe why they call it predictions – we took the day as it came. It was a long day for Petra, but she did an amazing job and never seize to amaze me.
We started off with some boudoir photos with natural make-up, then a bit darker make-up for the more casual look, even darker for the formal wear and a stunning dark for the costume photos. Ilana from Cosmetiek spent the day with us to help with the different looks. As always her magic wand did the most amazing work.
The model portfolio bug has bitten me with this shoot and know it is a photography genre that I would love to grow in more, as well as adding additional skills to my editing knowledge.
Some of the images we took that day was also featured on LW Mag.
Enjoy these and some of the behind the scenes photos….
Soos enige fotosessie het ons natuurlik baie pret ook gehad en moet ek dit met julle deel ook. Daarmee saam het ek ook vir haar en Ilana afgeneem waar hul besig was met die grimering wat ons met elke “look” verander het.
PS: A big thanks to David for being our reflector assistant for the day. He did an amazing job and caused for a few good laughs.
